Environmental and lifestyle factors may be the cause of insomnia such as too much light or noise, or an uncomfortable bed; so the insomnia remedies in these cases are self explanatory.

Self-medicating with herbs, hormones, amino acids, acupuncture and low energy emission therapy are often used as insomnia remedies as they eleviate potential side-effects of prescription medications. Camomile tea is well known for its relaxing, sleep-inducing properties, that help to alleviate headaches and anxiety and is one of the more reliable of insomnia remedies. It has been used for centuries as a natural remedy to calm and soothe. Lying in bed all night long, unable to fall asleep, can be very distressing. One in three adults suffer from insomnia and women are more likely to experience it. A lack of sleep will adversely effect your physical and emotional health and will leave you feeling tired, irritable, with a decrease in your ability to concentrate and make rational decisions. You will be come more accident-prone and your immune system will be less effective in fighting off infections. Finding the insomnia remedies that work for you are, therefore, crucial. Establishing a routine before bedtime is a good way to program your mind. Some excellent late night insomnia remedies include: getting a massage with calming oils; taking a warm bath; drinking a warm cup of herbal tea or taking a herbal supplement; or why not go all the way - so to speak - and indulge in a spot of nookey! Important not to relax too early in this case though, otherwise you may find yourself woken abruptly and then you will have a genuine reason for a restless night!
